Founder & CEO
A career in fashion evolved into a multidisciplinary practice spanning design, bespoke product and brand development.
After an international modeling career appearing in Vogue, ELLE, and Harper’s Bazaar, Heather founded PAYNE Apparel in New York, followed by Emerging Heroes. That rare vantage point—from image and garment to brand and business—brings editorial instinct, commercial intelligence, and deep product knowledge to every collaboration.
Today she creates original collections and retail programs for luxury hotels, resorts, global brands, and private clients, uniting vision, design, production, and delivery under one creative direction.

For Four Seasons, each bear becomes a portrait of place—shaped by the architecture, landscape, color, and character of an individual property. Distinctive by design, every edition is created to be collected, remembered, and carried home.

For St. Regis Aspen, the hotel’s heritage and alpine setting move from place to art, from art to fashion, and from fashion to memory. Every piece belongs to one complete retail world.

Original artwork, custom linings, and refined materials turn the hotel’s alpine character into a complete collection created exclusively for St. Regis Aspen.
From place to piece
The Maroon Bells and Kitty, the hotel’s Bernese mountain dog, became the starting points for two original jacket stories. Each was translated into custom artwork, carried through the interior, and resolved as distinctive outerwear created exclusively for St. Regis Aspen.
A guest first sees a beautifully considered jacket. Inside, the destination reveals itself.
The silk collection
Cut in 19 momme silk, the collection pairs tailored pajamas with refined finishing and coordinated accessories. French cuffs, contrast piping, and original St. Regis Aspen artwork create one cohesive resort story.
Emerging Heroes × Virgin Voyages
Original apparel, accessories, travel pieces, games, and collectibles draw on maritime tradition with a distinctly Virgin point of view.
THREE WATERS
For Three Waters in Islamorada, the color, wildlife, rituals, and wit of the Keys become an original visual language. Each idea moves from destination artwork into pieces guests can wear, use, and remember long after the stay.

For Jade Mountain, the atmosphere of St. Lucia is expressed through fluid silhouettes, luminous color, and the tactile luxury of silk—a wardrobe shaped by the destination.

We study the place, the guest, the brand, and the commercial context to define a distinctive point of view.
Story, original artwork, product architecture, apparel, accessories, textiles, packaging, and collectible ideas are designed as one language.
Materials, trims, prototypes, fit, costing, and specialist manufacturing are refined under one exacting creative direction.
Production, quality control, international logistics, and final delivery are managed through to completion.
PAYNE
Before Emerging Heroes became a creative studio for luxury hospitality and global brands, there was PAYNE: Heather Payne’s New York collection and the origin of the design language, product discipline, and independent point of view that guide the studio today.
The New York story
After years of wearing clothes for a living, Heather understood how a garment should move, sculpt, support, and transform the person inside it. PAYNE brought that experience into a complete fashion collection built around strength, precision, and freedom of movement.
The brand earned editorial recognition and a place with prominent department stores, specialty boutiques, and luxury fitness destinations—establishing both the visual language and the product authority behind Emerging Heroes.
